        Description

        Athenuators are used to adapt optical performance to the optical network requirements (usually to reduce strong singlemode resources when connected to a short distance (there is no mutual burning of the receiver-fotodium by a high-performance laser necessary for very long routes above 40km). Athenuators usually have male/female connectors and can be inserted anywhere on the optical route.
