A new solution for the 60 GHz band

03.04.2024

We are happy to announce that as a leading distributor of telecommunications equipment, we are coming up with another MW solution specifically for the 60 GHz band. The manufacturer is the European company Tachyon Networks.

Tachyon TNA-30x series products are high-end PTP and PTMP mmwave radios operating in the 60 GHz band. Tachyon Networks is thus able to provide a perfect solution for ISPs who need to deploy multi-gigabit fixed wireless access, as well as for related applications -  video surveillance, WiFi backhaul, etc. All this in combination with development and production directly in the EU and other advanced solutions predetermines the entire system for deployment even in sensitive applications such as CCTV systems, capacitive interconnection of buildings and the like. In addition, the integrated PoE-out port enables the connection of another device, such as a camera, directly to the microwave unit.

Tachyon TNA-301, 60 GHz přístupový bod 120° a Tachyon TNA-302, 60 GHz přístupový bod/klient 40°

The Tachyon model TNA-301 and TNA-302 is primarily intended as an access point (AP) with a sector beamforming antenna 120° x 50° or 40° x 40° , however, it can also work in client or PTP mode. The unit serves up to 32 client stations.

Parameters:

  • Full 60 GHz band support - channels 1-6 (57-71 GHz)
  • Certification according to EN 303 722, i.e. legal use also in the 66-71 GHz range
  • Transmission capacity more than 2 Gbps
  • 2.5GEth PoE-in port + 1GE PoE-out port
  • Option to use second port as failover port

Tachyon TNA-303X, 60 GHz modulární přístupový bod/klient a antenní kit Tachyon TNA-AK-100

The Tachyon model TNA-303X is a unique modular solution that works as an access point (AP) with a sector beamforming antenna 90° x 50°. The unit serves up to 32 client stations. The same unit can also be used as a client, when connecting an external antenna, the radiation pattern changes to 6° and thus connection at distances in the order of hundreds of meters is possible.

Tachyon TNA-AK-100 antenna is used to convert the TNA-303X unit into a narrow beam directional CPE unit by simply snapping the antenna in place and securing with screws. The radiation pattern of the antenna is 6° and the gain is 38 dBi - thanks to this, it can be used as a long-distance client device.

Tachyon TNS-100, 2.5G PoE switch

PoE switch Tachyon TNS-100 comes with 4x 2.5GE PoE-out, 1x PoE-in interface and 10G SFP+ slot. It's a great complement for the 60 GHz solution from the Tachyon company, which enables easy connection of access points at a speed of 2.5 Gbps and thereby fully utilizes their radio potential. The PoE-in port can be used to power devices as well as to power devices on PoE output ports. For applications requiring more than 1A of power, a DC connector is available and can be used with an optional power adapter for up to 4A.

Management of TNS-100 is possible via web interface, SNMP or RESTful API, which provides very flexible options for different applications. VLAN management is supported, as well as VLAN access and trunking on ports. Additional features include port isolation and remote PoE power reset.

Other parameters:

  • 4 x 2.5 Gbps NBASE-T ports with software-controlled PoE output (max. 0.8 A per port)
  • 1 x 2.5 Gbps NBASE-T port with PoE-in (max 1A)
  • 1 x 10Gbps SFP+ port
  • VLAN management support, access & trunking VLAN
  • IPv4 (static and DHCP) and IPv6 management support
  • Support NTP, LLDP, CDP, MNDP, Syslog (local /remote), Ping Watchdog

We have expanded our portfolio with a new manufacturer from the EU, which offers a great solution for the 60 GHz band
